Tamar Brand-Shamir, Adv.

Tamar joined Legal Translations Ltd. as an Associate Translator in 2012. She has excellent command of both Hebrew and English.

Tamar gained extensive practical experience of the legal and business world during some nine years (1995-2003) as General Counsel and Company Secretary to Frutarom Industries Ltd., the market leader in flavor and fragrance ingredients. Her legal work in the business world gave her opportunity to gain experience across a wide array of areas, including commercial law, corporate law, employment law, mergers and acquisitions, knowledge exchange agreements, prospectuses and reports to the Stock Exchange as well as in-depth knowledge of the workings of the board of directors and management, and with the diverse commercial and legal aspects of the corporate world. As a multi-national company, with a parent company in the US and subsidiaries that were established or acquired over the years in the US, England, Russia, China, and elsewhere, much of the work was conducted in English.

Tamar completed her LL.B. at Tel Aviv University in 1992, and was admitted to the Israel Bar in 1993.

In addition to her work as a translator, Tamar devotes time and effort to social action, working with individuals and communities out of an aspiration to promote a healthy, inclusive, and discrimination-free society. She is certified as a group facilitator, using an integrative and holistic approach, and is a graduate of numerous courses and training programs in the field. She serves as coordinator of the Sharon area of the Re-evaluation Counseling Association in Israel, and coordinator of translation into Hebrew for the Association. She is also active in “The Women’s Courtyard”, an organization dedicated to the empowerment and inclusion of girls and young women.
